Rhythms Around the World

Feel the beat of Haitian drums, the sultry pulse of Argentine Tango Nuevo and the riveting race of the Tour de France during this night of rhythms from around the world. Closer to home, MacPhail's percussion faculty premieres an original composition by some of the most unique musical voices and talents of Twin Cities composers. This chorale-styled piece, featuring mallet keyboard instruments, will fill the hall with reflective sounds of a vibrantly optimistic future.

Featured performers: Bob Adney, Paul Babcock, David Birrow, Eric Strom, Erik Barsness and Steve Roehm, percussion; Shari Rothman, harp; Nina Olsen, clarinet; Johnny Teyssier, clarinet; Jeff Lambert, guitar and Linda Chatterton, flute.
