Into Quarterly: Minneapolis Launch

City-inspired literary and arts journal Into Quarterly launches its Minneapolis volume on Dec 9: a portrait of Minneapolis, depicted through the creative work of the city’s own writers, photographers, designers, and fine artists.

Copresented by Into Quarterly and the Loft, this event will feature readings from select artist contributors and a brief panel discussion about how a sense of place influences home, community, and social action/reaction through words and visual art.

Featured readers include Kao Kalia Yang, Kathryn Haddad, and Matt Rasmussen.

Panelists include: Hieu Minh Nguyen, Michael Cina, Jovan C. Speller, Dyani White Hawk, and Shannon Gibney

Inspired by local themes such as social justice, identity, cold, and kindness, Into: Minneapolis features work by 40 artists who are currently defining Minneapolis’ creative tone, including Dyani White Hawk, Michael Cina, Bobby Rogers, Wing Ta, Danez Smith, Matt Rasmussen, Sarah Stonich, Shelly Mosman, Meg Lewis, Hieu Minh Nguyen, Ed Bok Lee, Sun Yung Shin, Eliesa Johnson, Kate Worum, Eight Hour Day, Bao Phi, Kao Kalia Yang, and many more. Through their combined voices and mediums, readers experience a portrait of Minneapolis today, and a time capsule of the art coming out of it.

Reception and book sales to follow.
