Explore the art of traditional Japanese papermaking and decoration in this no-experience-necessary introductory experience. Learn the process from plant to page along with simple techniques to use at home. Participants will rid themselves of a week's worth of stress by hand beating kozo (the plant used to make "rice" paper), pulling sheets from cool, relaxing vats of pulp, and creating meditative patterns through the age-old practice of suminagashi marbling.
