December 4, 2012, Tuesday - Book Arts Roundtable: Julia Gualtieri at MCBA

Time: 7:00pm

Location: Minnesota Center for Book Arts, 1011 Washington Avenue South

Book Arts Roundtable:  Artist-in-Residence Julia Gualtieri

Mark your calendar for the next Book Arts Roundtable!

Join artist-in-residence Julia Gualtieri for a discussion of DIY residencies, art/bike projects, collaborations, and the work she is creating during her residency here at MCBA. Julia holds a BA in Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an MA in Art Education from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has worked in diverse educational settings throughout the country and the world. She is equally comfortable in a suburban elementary school classroom as a skateboard camp in a Zulu village. In addition to producing her own books and prints, Julia is involved with the Providence Comics Consortium, which teaches comics and sequential art to children and publishes their work alongside work of adult comic artists. She is currently making a book which includes creative writing assignments she has given to her mother and grandmother over the past two years.

Always free and always open to the public, MCBA's Book Arts Roundtables are where interesting, passionate, and knowledgeable people like you learn, share ideas, and get inspired.
