December 23, 2017, Saturday - Family Baking Workshop: Holiday Traditions at Mill City Museum

Times: 9:00am-11:00am

Location: Mill City Museum, 704 2nd Street S

Family Baking Workshop: Holiday Traditions

Bake a traditional holiday treat and learn the history of holiday traditions in Minneapolis and the people who brought them here, in a special parent-child workshop. A museum baker will discuss the rich history of Swedish traditions and lead the group in preparing a traditional Swedish recipe from the new MNHS Press book "Jul: Swedish American Holiday Traditions" by Patrice Johnson.

While the treats bake, participants will explore holiday traditions from a variety of nationalities through photographs, artifacts, samples and sharing stories. Participants will take home recipes and the treats they bake. Each adult registered for the workshop will also receive a Better Batter Bowl as a free gift, courtesy of Nordic Ware.
