December 12, 2014, Friday - 6th Annual Holiday Shindig – Benefiting Kill Kancer at Aster Cafe

Tonight: 6th Annual Holiday Shindig – Benefiting Kill Kancer

Featuring performances by:
Newlywed songwriters Mother Banjo and Ben Cook-Feltz team up to present the 6th Annual Holiday Shindig on Friday, December 12 at the Aster Cafe. Benefiting the nonprofit Kill Kancer, the event will feature some of the Twin Cities’ top songwriting and instrumental talents, including Prairie Home Companion favorites Dan “Daddy Squeeze” Newton and Molly Dean as well as soulful singers Jon Rodine and Natalie Lovejoy. Taking turns singing seasonal originals and holiday favorites, they will ring in the holidays with unique performances and collaborations that will include artist-led sing-alongs between the sets. All ticket proceeds go to Kill Kancer.
Founded by Mary Beth Mueller after losing her husband Karl Mueller (of Soul Asylum) to esophageal cancer, Kill Kancer is dedicated to educating, encouraging and empowering people to lead healthy lifestyles and prevent certain kinds of cancers. As a childhood cancer survivor, Ben Cook-Feltz is a strong supporter of this organization which is working to fightl one of the leading causes of death in Minnesota.
