December 1, 2017, Friday - Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. opens at SteppingStone Theatre

Disney’s Beauty & the Beast Jr.

Time: 7:00pm

Location: SteppingStoneTheatre for Youth, 55 N Victoria Street, St Paul

December 1-22    Suggested for all ages.

SteppingStoneTheatre for Youth’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr. is part of the 30th anniversary celebration of SteppingStone’s history of performances in St. Paul. According to Artistic Director, Mark Ferraro-Hauck, “We planned a season of celebrations: favorite books, stories, and folk tales that speak to young people about joy, love, friendship, and acceptance. Beauty and the Beast is the perfect holiday highlight for this year of celebration.” The season continues with an adaptation of the Newberry-Award winning novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry directed by Kory LaQuess Pullam and a co-production with Mu Performing Arts of The Princess’ Nightingale, a new adaptation the Hans Christian Anderson story of The Nightingale set in 17th century China. The Princess’ Nightingale will coincide with Asian Pacific-Islanders Heritage Month in May.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in the 2017-2018 production season, SteppingStone Theatre has served St. Paul and the East Metro as the premiere performing arts organization for youth. Our child-focused approach, teaming professional teaching artists with youth in collaborative and child-driven creative activity, has distinguished SteppingStone from its peers as we continue to nurture meaningful change for youth, families and schools in the community.
