August 9, 2011, Tuesday - Let's Go to Japan! Workshop at MCBA

Time:  10:00am - Noon

Location: Minnesota Center for Book Arts, 1011 Washington Avenue South

With Ellen Ferrari.  For families with children age 2 and up.

Visit Japan with Suki's Kimono by Chieri Uegaki and then create some Japanese arts. Construct a paper koi wind sock decorated with konji characters. Fold some big origami, and a little sushi book. Carve a stamp and print your own hachimaki head scarf to wear to our folk dancing circle. Plus, sample some real Japanese snacks!

$30 ($27 members) per adult/child pair; $15 ($14) each additional participant
