August 6, 2019, Tuesday - NNO & The Goonies Movie Night at The Commons

Time: 5p - 9p

Location: The Commons, 425 Portland Ave S

National Night Out & The Goonies Movie Night at The Commons

A neighborhood National Night Out event at The Commons, including a free outdoor movie screening of The Goonies, presented in partnership with the Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association and sponsors Freestyle Productions, Inc. and Izzy's Ice Cream. Other activities to be announced.

The Goonies will air on an LED screen, beginning at 7pm. 1 hour, 54 minutes (PG). Come early to picnic, meet your downtown neighbors, and receive a free scoop of Izzy's Ice Cream!

National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to get out in the community, holding block parties and getting to know their neighbors as a way to encourage crime prevention. It's a great way to promote community-police partnerships and enjoy a Minnesota summer evening surrounded by friends and family.

As with many past National Night Outs, Minneapolis has been ranked #1 among all U.S. cities over 250,000 population for many years, and was ranked #2 in 2018. Over 1,600 events were registered in 2018.

This is not a 'BYO-alcohol' event.
