Snail in the Park Picnic:  Sustainable Seafood at Boom Island Park

Learn about sustainable seafood and enjoy several varieties of salmon. Our host is Helen Schnoes of Sitka Salmon Shares, who will discuss the environmental impact of seafood. Slow Food Minnesota and Sitka will demonstrate and serve king, sockeye and coho salmon. Please bring a dish to share.

Sitka Salmon Shares is a community supported fishery, operating very much like a CSA. They work with independent small-boat fishing families in southeast Alaska and provide salmon, halibut and cod to members.

Tickets are $10 for Slow Food and Sitka Salmon Share members and $15 for non-members. Children 12 and under are free. Reservations
