August 28, 2014, Thursday - The Film Society presents:Twilight of the Mississippi

Time:  7:00 pm (one night only)

Location: St. Anthony Main Theatre, 125 Main Street SE

The Film Society will present a screening of the locally-made documentary Twilight of the Mississippi as part of the Science on Screen film series. University of Minnesota Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Conservation Biology Professor Przemek Bajer, PhD will give a talk before the film that briefly reviews the changes that have occurred in the Mississippi and other major world rivers over the last few decades, including the introduction of invasive fish and recent efforts to control their spread and abundance. Science on Screen is an ongoing series pairing science-themed films with real science lectures, and is made possible through a grant by the Coolidge Corner Theatre, with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
