August 24, 2014, Sunday - Minneapolis Duathlon 2014

The Minneapolis Duathlon routes have been modified due to the partial West River Road Parkway closures. Check the website for updates.

Important Update:

August 13, 2014

As you may be aware, following a mudslide along the Mississippi River bank due to record rainfall, the Minneapolis Park Board has deemed the West River Parkway unsafe and closed to use until 2015.

This extraordinary circumstance requires us to alter the Duathlon race route by 1.5 miles.

The alternate route will run from 13th Avenue to New Greenway crossing the Old #9 Railroad Bridge, linking to East River Parkway and following Franklin back to the West River Road. The bike turnaround will be just east of the Godfrey Parkway Roundabout.

The 1/8 mile stretch along East River Parkway is quite narrow, to maintain a safe race environment for all participants this section is a single-file, no-passing zone. Failure to abide by these rules will result in disqualification.
