August 2, 2016, Tuesday - 72 Stretch Beer Release Party at Fulton Taproom

Time: 5pm - 10pm

Location: Fulton Taproom, 414 N 6th Avenue

Join Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR)at Fulton Taproom on Tuesday, August 2, beginning at 5 p.m. to celebrate the release of 72 Stretch, a limited-edition Fulton gose brew benefiting FMR.

Made in collaboration with Fulton Beer, Rahr Corporation and Bob Mitchell's Fly Shop, this special brew honors the 72 miles of the Mississippi River flowing through the Twin Cities metro. Home to our local national park, the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, this 72-mile stretch also serves as the sole source of drinking water for nearly one in three metro residents. Plus, Mississippi River water is the number one ingredient in brews from Minneapolis!

In recognition of the river's importance to our health, culture and industry, $1 from each pint of 72 Stretch will support FMR's work to protect, restore and enhance the river for everyone.

In addition to great beer, the launch party will feature fly casting tips from the owners of Bob Mitchell's Fly Shop, specially produced river-themed artwork by Jake Keeler and screenings of FMR's documentary, 'Rebirth,' on the little-known story behind the hard-won designation of our local Mississippi River national park. FMR staff and friends will be there to answer questions on river health and to share actions that all of us can take to protect the Big River.

72 Stretch will be available only in Fulton Taproom, while supplies last. Check it out before it's gone!

Our collaboration with Fulton Beer, Rahr Malting and Bob Mitchell's Fly Shop came together with the simple idea that you can't make great beer without great water. Earlier this year, we launched greatrivergreatbeer.com to raise awareness and support for the river. 72 Stretch is our first project together.

This event is free, open to the public (ages 21+) and no registration is required! For questions or more information, please contact FMR Development Officer John Briel at jbriel@fmr.org.
