Today at Mill City Farmers Market:  Gut Health Day

Learn the benefits of fermented foods (besides being delicious!). Stop by our pickled vegetable vendors Kiss My Cabbage and Martha's Joy for amazing, kimchi, sauerkraut, pickled watermelon rinds, and more! Or, home-picklers can pick up baskets of pickling cucumbers and other great veggies to preserve the harvest!

PRODUCE PLANNER - Arugula, beets, blueberries, baby bok choi, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, collards, cucumbers, eggplant, fennel, garlic scapes, green beans, green onions, ground cherries, hakurei salad turnips, herbs, kale, kohlrabi, lavender, lettuce, melon, mint, microgreens, mushrooms, mustard greens, Nappa cabbage, oregano, pac choi, parsnips, radicchio, radishes (red and french breakfast), raspberries, rhubarb, okra, oregano, peppers (hot and sweet), potatoes, raspberries, spring onions, squash blossoms, salad mix, snap peas, snow peas, spinach, sweet corn, Swiss chard, thyme, tomatillos, zucchini and much more!

9AM – Donation-based outdoor yoga class from Joni at YogaFit Studios Northeast! The class will be in the lawn down the stairs from the Market across from River Road. Bring your own mat!

10:30-11AM Market Chef Jenny Breen will prepare a seasonal market meal with chef and owners of GYST Fermentation Bar in our FREE cooking demonstration, Mill City Cooks!

MINI FARM
Mini Farm- Oliver H. Kelley Farm will be joining us again this season on the 2nd Saturday of every month! Little market shoppers and adults alike can experience life on a historic 1890’s farm when heritage variety sheep and hens come to the market each month!

KIDS' ACTIVITY
Power of Produce–PoP Club!- A seasonal vegetable tasting club for kids ages 5-12. Collect punches on trading cards and receive a $2 token to spend on produce at the market for tasting this Saturday’s vegetable! This season PoP will be at the market’s green Information Booth in the center of the market on the Chicago Mall.

LIVE MUSIC
11AM – 1PM MCFM welcomes Jack Klatt playing folk, rockabilly music in the music tent located near the Guthrie stairs.

MEET YOUR VEGETABLES
Sample fresh, seasonal veggie recipes created and prepared by Nutrition students at our Meet Your Vegetables booth, located at the top of the Chicago Mall. Our interns will be sampling Tomato Cucumber Salad–grab a recipe and a sample and chat with medical professionals from Allina Health, the program’s sponsor.
