April 26, 2018, Thursday - Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction Project Open House

Time: 4:00-6:00pm (no presentation; come and go at any time, children’s activities available)

Location: Hennepin Theatre Trust, 900 Hennepin Avenue

Please join us on Thursday, April 26 for an open house to learn more about the Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction Project.

The City of Minneapolis is advancing planning and design of Hennepin Avenue between Washington Avenue and 12th Street. Considerations include accommodations for multiple travel modes within the existing right-of-way, including sidewalks with space for plantings and furnishings, one-way bikeways behind the curb, space for enhanced transit stops compatible with future Arterial Bus Rapid Transit service, and the retention of four vehicle lanes for the length of the Hennepin Avenue project area. A roadway layout will be presented to the Minneapolis City Council for approval in July 2018.

At the open house, the project team will be updating the public on the design process and next steps, including how previous public input has been considered. A layout with specific dimensions will be available for review. You will also be able to comment on options for an overall aesthetic vision for the larger corridor between the Walker Art Center and the Mississippi River. We hope to see you there!
