April 23, 2015, Thursday - Urban Ag in the Twin Cities & Cuba: A Presentation & Discussion at Minnesota Social Impact Center

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: Minnesota Social Impact Center, 250 N. 3rd Avenue #550

Join the Twin Cities to Cuba Urban Agriculture Delegation at 6PM on Thursday, April 16th for a presentation and discussion about urban agriculture. The group will give a short presentation on their experience in Cuba this past January visiting urban farms and farm cooperatives, the Ministry of Agriculture, INIFAT (an urban agriculture research station) and community food education organizations. Following the presentation, we will bring themes of the trip back to the Twin Cities and break into discussion groups. Examples of discussion topics are: land access, cooperative economics, local food access, and urban agriculture public policy.

Presenters: Stone's Throw Urban Farm, Writer and Food Educator Beth Dooley, Cam Gordon Policy Aide Robin Garwood, Lisa Bender Policy Aide Ben Somogyi, Tracy Sides, Executive Director of Urban Oasis, Shared Ground Farmers' Cooperative, Writer and Food Educator Anna Dvorak.
