The New/Old Multiplicity: Introducing the S. Helmes and W. Gaglione Rubber Stamp Archive

Minnesota Center for Book Arts is proud to announce a world-wide first: the establishment of a working rubber stamp archive uniting the extensive andcomprehensive collections of Scott Helmes and William“Picasso’ Gaglione. Officially opening in early 2017, MCBA’s H/G Archive will not only preserve the largest assembling of rare, historic and unique rubber stamps, but also serve as an incubator forcreative practice, with stamps accessible for use by both professional and emerging artists.

TheNew/Old Multiplicity exhibition offers viewers a sneak peek of the archive’s holdings as well as examples of contemporary rubber stamp art work ranging from concrete poetry rooted in Dada traditions to Fluxus-inspired mail art and Asemic compositions.
