Stone Arch Festival of the Arts Ends 17 Year Run According to City Pages

While budget concerns have been the demise of several regular happenings, including the Taste of Minnesota, it appears that more tragic reasons have driven the Stone Arch Fest to cease planning for 2012 as event organizer Ira Heilicher passed suddenly in August from complications to pneumonia. He had been too ill to attend the 2011 event. Staffing changes also compounded logistical complications, as Sara Collins recently left her job at left Minneapolis Riverfront Arts and Events for another non-profit.
