Donald Giovanni in Cornlandia: A Picnic Operetta
Political candidates converge on a small agrarian town in Middle America. Real Estate tycoon Donald Giovanni and his campaign staff have left a trail of broken hearts and broken promises in their attempt to woo voters. Now a strange supernatural force has been ignited to bring him down. Its a mix of Mozart, 80s pop, and hair bands! Tasty, garden fresh bites will be served throughout the show to celebrate harvest and campaign fever.
This one-of-a-kind show is directed by Kym Longhi, with a new script by music director Jerrod Wendland. The classic Italian comedic opera meets 80s hair bands and modern day political drama. Along with music by Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, the cast sinks their teeth into the songs of Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Lionel Richie, and Tears for Fears.

Mill City Museum and Xcel Energy will partner on a series of weekday walking tours highlighting the story of waterpower at St. Anthony Falls, including rare access to an operating power plant.
During the early 20th century, more than two dozen mills and hydroelectric plants used the water power from St. Anthony Falls. Today just one is left: Xcel Energy's Hennepin Island Hydroelectric Plant.
On this tour, a Mill City Museum guide will lead participants to Hennepin Island and Father Hennepin Bluffs Park, including special access to the power plant. Along the way, participants will learn about the historic uses of waterpower at the falls for flour milling, sawmilling and hydroelectricity, the role of hydroelectricity in Xcel Energy's green energy and energy efficiency initiatives and the future of waterpower on the Minneapolis riverfront.
Hennepin Island Hydropower Tour is presented by Xcel Energy.
Set in the museum's dramatic open air Ruin Courtyard, Mill City Live features outdoor concerts every Wednesday night in August by some of the best local artists for a unique happy hour experience.
