February 6, 2019, Wednesday - Evicted: The Minnesota Story at FOOD BUILDING

Time: 5:30p - 7:30p

Location: FOOD BUILDING, 1401 Marshall Street NE

Evicted: The Minnesota Story

Join us for cocktails with a cause on Wednesday, February 6!

Legal Aid, in partnership with MinnPost and Far North Spirits, invite you to enjoy signature cocktails and appetizers as we examine the important topic of housing eviction.

Please join us for a conversation on housing and eviction, and how they impact families in Hennepin County. Evictions destroy lives and exacerbate generational poverty. Women and children suffer the most, often facing eviction through no fault of their own.

Dr. Brittany Lewis, Senior Research Associate at the University of Minnesota's Center for Urban and Regional Affairs, will talk about her local research on eviction data, and her work in comparing that data to the experiences of families before, during and after the eviction process. Luke Grundman, Managing Attorney of Legal Aid's Housing Unit, will provide brief remarks.

Thanks to our sponsors, admission includes appetizers and drinks, including a seasonal cocktail designed for the evening by Far North Spirits. This fun and informative event will be held at the Food Building, which is an experience in and of itself. We hope you'll attend, partake and discuss!

Admission $10. Please register or call 612-746-3709.
