As people who values the education system in our community, we try to find ways where we can make a difference. There are 36,000 students attending Minneapolis Public Schools, and on November 8, election day, they are counting on us to vote YES to renew the current Minneapolis Public Schools referendum. These dollars account for about 13 percent of the district’s budget, so it is critical that we pass the referendum. That is why we are doing everything we can to help the Vote YES for Kids campaign. Please join us in the Bridgewater Community Room on Thursday, October 13 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM to hear about the Vote Yes for Kids campaign.
City Council Member Jacob Frey, who is an Honorary Co-Chair of the campaign committee, will be on hand to talk about this important campaign and why this should matter to all of us. Minneapolis Public School Superintendent Ed Graff will be stopping by to share his vision for the school district.
This referendum is crucial to the success of Minneapolis schools as the referendum dollars are used to manage class sizes by providing the funding for over 591 classroom teachers. Referendum dollars also provide supportive services for students across the district. Our kids are counting on us so let’s make sure we are giving them the best chance for success.
We hope you’ll consider financially supporting the campaign and campaign staff will be present to assist with that. If you’d like to learn more, please visit www.YESforMplskids.org. Whether or not you make a contribution, we hope you stop by to learn more about our schools and to enjoy a glass of wine or soft drink on us.
Please join us on Thursday, October 13th at 6:00 pm and remember to vote YES for Kids on Election Day!
