Elpis Enterprises at the Mill City Farmers Market

By now you may have noticed that the MCFM places heavy emphasis on involving kids in the Market experience.  Elpis Enterprises, a nonprofit organization that provides job training, work experience and placement for homeless youth, was the September 5 Community Booth.

In addition to sharing information on the positive work they're doing, they also provided kids with the opportunity to make their own bird feeders to take home.

Why the name Elpis? In Greek mythology, Elpis was the personification of hope.

Elpis works directly with fence contractors to recycle cut-offs and old fences. Adult staff, volunteers and interns process the wood and turn it into kits for Elpis programs and products.
